The 4th Gold Award Ceremony 2016 of The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award was held on December 05 at the residence of the British High Commissioner to Bangladesh.HE Mark Clayton,the Acting British High Commissioner, handed over certificates to the 19 Gold awardees of Maple Leaf International School and, a crest of recognition  to the Principal Mr Ali Karam Reza. Naim Hasan, an awardee of this institution, spoke on behalf of all awardees.

MLIS team secured one of the winners position with their project called "The Butterfly Effect" in the YASD programme organized by the YES alumni Bangladesh and supported by the American Centre Dhaka on the 25th April 2016.

The Daily Star Spelling Bee Season 6 Champion Sabir Hossain Sagor receives the champion's trophy from the state minister ICT Junaid Ahmed Palak and the Summit Group Chairman Aziz Khan on 10th February 2016. Sagor, a student of Maple International School, secured victory over his fellow competitors after an electrifying final round of the Grand Final. Apart from the trophy Sagor has also won a trip to Washington DC with a guardian.
Maple Leaf International School's team secured the 1st runners up position their project title "The Battery that Breathes, and the Virus that Lives in it" in the STEM Innovation Fair organized by ECS-Educatiuon & Cultural Society with a support of a U.S. Department of State Federal Assistance Award held on 29th May 2015. Team members Nafisa Tabassum, Sweta Majumder, Moumita Moazzem, Fahmida Islam won the prize which comprises a trophy and a financial award. The program was graced by the Honorable US Ambassador as a Chief Guest and eminent scientist Professor Dr. Shamsher Ali as a guest of Honor. Popular singer and actor Tahsan, who was a full bright alumni, was present as the fair as Special Guest. Three Maple Leaf teams participated in the event.

Sheikh Rasel Young's Football Tournament. A total of 16 teams consisting of educational institutions participated. The final against Axis Education. The results were 1-1 (5-4 pen). The tournament started on the 26th of October and ended on the 28th. The participating players were:
